Car Procurement: Cars 3700-3719 were ordered in 1995 to replace operational
losses. Cars were delivered in 1997 at a cost of $2.430,000 each
Snow Plows: Lead edge of all motor trucks retrofitted with small
snow plow as of mid 1998
Ice-Cutting Capability: All LRVs are able to be fitted with
self-heated ice cutters w/separate brass cutter heads in place of carbon heads. MBTA
has over 20 on hand. Changing from carbon to ice-cutter heads takes 15 minutes.
